People in the City of Modesto have been pushing for an accessible playground like the one proposed here in Arden Arcade. ABC10 has reported that the project in Modesto has now raised 1/2 of its $2.5M funds and is gaining momentum towards fulfillment of the dream. Our local project is moving forward slowly but surely. SMUD is on the verge of finalizing a land tenure agreement with the Mission Oaks Recreation and Parks District in cooperation with the Sacramento Parks Foundation - something necessary for the project on Bell Street to happen. A major fund-raising drive will be needed next, as the price tag isn’t trivial. But it is worth the effort. Let’s hope our community will Feel the Love like the project in Modesto.
