Mosquito & Vector Abatement
Sacramento and Yolo Counties cooperate for mosquito and vector abatement across both counties.
The Sacramento County-Yolo County Mosquito Abatement District was created to protect the public against diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and relief from serious pest nuisances. The name was changed to "Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District" in 1990 to reflect expanded services regarding ticks, yellow jackets and other vectors. The board consists of 13 appointees from the incorporated cities and the two counties within the District’s boundaries.
