Local Election Results
Though they are not final, the most recent ballot counts from the Sacramento County Office of Voter Registration and Elections might as well be. According to a Sacramento Bee article, Rich Desmond has prevailed over Gregg Fishman in the race to fill retiring Supervisor Susan Peters’ seat on the Board of Supervisors. Arden Arcade’s representatives in Congress and the state Legislature - Congressman Ami Bera, Congresswoman Doris Matsui and Assemblyman Ken Cooley - were re-elected. All incumbents were returned to their posts in contested elections for the San Juan Unified School District (Pam Costa, Paula Villescaz and Saul Hernandez), the American River Flood Control District (Tamika L’Ecluse and Cyril Shah) and the Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District (Kathy Stricklin, Laura Lavallee and Teresa Higgins). The North Highlands Recreation and Park District saw some incumbents replaced. The voters there chose Crystal Harding-Jenkins, Beau Reynolds and Max Semenenko for the Board. We wish all the newly elected officials well in the service of their constituents.
