Here we are at Thanksgiving time in 2021. Covid is still with us. Our community is still forgotten territory that is coveted as a revenue source by the City of Sacramento, treated like a pawn by the State Redistricting Commission, typically overlooked by anyone who doesn't live or work here, and - except for our current Supervisor - largely disrespected by the County. Yet we have much for which to be thankful:

• a wonderfully diverse and interesting population
• a dependable local economy with iconic small businesses
• neighborhoods that have been cherished for generations
• many beautiful parks and lots of trees that are particularly glorious right now
