Local Peace Officer gets Medal of Valor

Here's a hearty "Bravo!" for Ranger John Mohamed of the Fulton-El Camino Park Police Department, recipient of a Medal of Valor from the Park Rangers' Association of California. He received the award for life-saving heroics. In May of 2022 Ranger Mohamed risked his own safety and ran into a fully engulfed building to save a man's life. His story was retold in a recent Carmichael Times article about a local National Night Out event he attended and was also reported on KCRA. The Fulton-El Camino Park Police not only keep the Fulton-El Camino parks safe, they also provide contract services for park safety at several other park districts in northeastern Sacramento County. Ranger Mohamed, a seasoned veteran of the force, is known for his dedication to community service and for his professionalism and fundamental decency. In a day and age when most people want to run away from a cop, Ranger Mohamed is the kind of cop people want to run towards - a genuine good man. Our community is fortunate to have him among our law enforcement personnel.
